Stand Up & Groin Punch Guard Escape

The following guard escape is not typical in BJJ as punching the groin is not allowed. Additionally, this guard escape may not work against an opponent skilled in BJJ due to his ability to sweep you as you stand up for the groin punch. However, it can be a quick and effective escape in many self defense situations.

Closed Guard Stand Up

Blue shirt is in gray shirt's guard. Blue shirt grabs gray shirt's biceps and jumps up to a standing position.

Groin Punch 1 Groin Punch 2
