Shoe vs. Stick
In the images below you see blue shirt using a shoe to defend against a stick attack by white shirt. Blue shirt is using the principles from the 4 Step Matrix, which can be used with any weapon. You can see video of this defense on my weapons page.
White shirt attacks blue shirt with a stick. Blue shirt steps in deep using the shoe as a shield to block the stick and get to a superior position.
Blue shirt smacks white shirt in the arm with the shoe while gaining control of white shirt's arm and beginning to wrap or snake his left arm around white shirt's right arm.
Blue shirt strikes white shirt in the face with the shoe a couple of times, then slams white shirt's arm down in order to strip the stick away.
Blue shirt hits white shirt in the head with the stick.
